There are too many clothes in the world. In an age where anything can be manufactured to fit someone's ideal, we often sacrifice much to achieve that vision—whether it's the labor of workers, or the toll on our planet through water, waste, plastic, and raw materials. From boots to bags, every product is born of sacrifice. For almost a thousand years, humans have played dress-up in the name of vanity, creating a history embedded in every stitch of fabric. That history lives on in the thousands of vintage garments we find in stores, flea markets, and consignment shops today. With the overwhelming surplus of clothing in the world, the need for more is no longer necessary. The clothing we wear today often lacks the comfort, fit, and soul that vintage pieces offer—garments crafted with care, free from exploitation and resource depletion. At Torn and Fortune, it is our mission, our calling, to showcase, collect, and repurpose the millions of garments that carry undeniable character and history. We aim to share this legacy with the world, offering a timeless alternative in an industry rife with excess.
